About Us
We never had lifelong dreams of opening a wine bar. OK, we used to think Cheers was pretty cool, but it never inspired us to want to pour drinks for a living. No, it all started almost 3 years ago, we were visiting some friends here in Kelowna and wanted to find a casual yet sophisticated place to grab a glass(or two) of great okanagan wine and share some seasonally inspired small plates. Somewhere with good music and a conversation-friendly atmosphere. We didn't want to go somewhere that; was a chain, required us to be wine experts or spend a whole lot of money . We looked hard. We found nothing. So we ended up drinking some wine at a friend's house. The more we talked about it (and the more we drank), we decided we should just open a place ourselves. It still sounded like a good idea the next morning, so we decided to make it a reality. That is how the Rotten Grape was born. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Cheers. Rita & Tasha
